Are you ready?

Kia ora readers! How did your week go (or maybe I should ask where did your week go)? Ah, another weekend is upon us, time to relax, unwind and enjoy yourself. And what better way to relax than rooting your favorite football team to victory? Yes, football season is here at last. Of course this means not only the action on the gridiron, but off as well. Cheerleaders! It's too bad they don't show them a little more between plays. Actually, it's quite amazing how much work these ladies put into their dance practice and routines. They're out there in the blazing sun dancing and cheering while we are all comfy at home or in the stands enjoying ice cold refreshment. They deserve more credit than they get.

I know that many people don't enjoy the whole team sport thing, but I think they just aren't looking at it the right way. Of course there are those who take it WAY too seriously too. If you fall into the first category, I recommend you rent "Friday Night Lights" the TV series on DVD. It's an excellent show that goes beyond the play field into the lives of the players, coaches and their families. It's really a great show even if you absolutely hate football, I can almost guarantee you'll enjoy the series.

A lady FNL fan - sweet! I hear its on DirecTv channel 101 this fall, with repeats on NBC in the spring. Strange, but I'll still be able to watch it....

I very much agree with you on the cheerleaders - they certainly don't show them enough!! Even in the Olympics, the Beach Vollyball cheerleaders were barely seen. Argh!!

Right you are A. Score one for the ladies! ;^)

Sheen, I noticed those beach volleyball cheerleaders too, what a shame they didn't show them more. I'm sure the ratings would've been even higher!
