Farewell Old Friend

Hola Readers.  I finally had a chance to do a quick lingerie shopping day recently.  These types of days have been getting scarce for me for a few reasons.  One reason is that I just don't have the time to spend doing it.  I still get a thrill browsing the lingerie, but time is short.  Second is that I don't have the space to add to my collection so anything I buy needs to be unique in some way.  Then of course, lastly, I don't really find things I like that I don't already have or have something similar to.

One thing I've noticed is that Sears consistently carries things that other stores don't have anymore.  I found they have slips there of differing lengths and colors.  You'd think that slips would be quite common to find, but I don't see them in any other stores, from discount retailers to the higher end shops.  They also have a nice selection of granny panties, something that I like to see.  I realize that there is an entire generation of people who find no sexuality in this style of panty, a shame really.  Of course all it would take is the right woman in the right movie or photo shoot to change minds.

Anyway, getting to the title of this post.  I discovered that my old stand by, Frederick's of Hollywood, was no more.  In it's place was some sort of music shop.  My mind raced, where was it, had the store moved to a new location?  I checked the directory, no Frederick's seen.  I whipped out my smart phone and went to the FoH site, which was still there, but there is no retail location search there.  Well, today I looked it up and found a few old news articles which pretty much said FoH had filed for bankruptcy last year and closed all it's retail stores. :^(  The good news is that they still exist, but only as an online store.

Here's to you Frederick's of Hollywood, may you live on in the cyber world!

PS: In similar news, I've also found (about six months ago) that the Forever 21 that I used to to get lingerie at, also no longer carries it.  They still make lots of intimates, but the store I shopped no longer had any.  My guess is the space was better used on items with more profit in them.  I may try the downtown flagship store sometime if I have a chance.  Hopefully they still have some lingerie.

July Sales

Hola Readers.  Well, the big holiday of the summer has come and gone.  I was planning to post something for the holiday, but didn't have time. :^(

I can try and get back in your good graces with today's posting though.  It seems that mega online retailer Amazon has started a new shopping holiday.  It's called Prime day and is going on today July 12.  Well, other retailers have jumped on the bandwagon and this week has become some sort of a mid year Black Friday type thing.

This is good news not only because if you need something, there are savings to be had, but also because I discovered a juicy bit of news.  It seems Macy's is now carrying a very limited amount of lingerie from tres chic design house Agent Provocateur.  Pictured below is what I could find on the site.  These are on sale too!

I've been to the AP boutique in my city and it had some of the most amazing lingerie I've ever seen.  It was also very pricey, so I ended up not purchasing anything (even though I really wanted to).  These boutiques are very exclusive and are only in a few cities, so having access to AP lingerie through Macy's is a big deal for a lot of lingerie fanatics.

My hope is that this tie in does well and that it will blossom and grow in the future.
