Hola Readers! How was your weekend? Well, another Monday is upon us, the start of another week. Today's post was inspired by something I saw over on the Slip of a Girl Blog. The top two pics above are a negligee she posted last week. Something about it reminded me of the old Star Trek TV series, the original one. Perhaps it was that plunging neckline or the sheerness or the crossover at the bustline or maybe the bare midriff? So today I thought I'd post some pics of some of the wonderful costumes that the female actors wore on that show.
First up, Nichelle Nichols looking very naughty as the "evil" version of her character. She can capture me with her weapons anytime!
Next, a couple of the uniforms worn on board ship reflecting the current fashion culture of the time (mid to late 60's) mini and micro skirts.
A couple of Trek's famous dancing green alien women, very exotic and sexy!
The costume designers were quite daring. I don't think you'd see many costumes that were more revealing back then (or even today for that matter) on prime time broadcast TV.
And a few more traditional type outfits. Still quite daring and beautiful. Watching reruns of this show as a kid I doubt I realized how sexy those dresses were!

Seeing them live when they first came out caused quite a "stir". There were more than a few "discussions" around the water cooler.
Wonderful pictures. I loved Star Trek. It would probably be embarrassing to watch it now (at least with anyone else around). The "new generation" was unwatchable I thought.

Hmm, ..., actually I think Star Trek, David Bowie (ca 1973) and the ladies underwear sections of the family mail order catalogues account for 90% of my sexuality. (oh, and a cartoon where Tom dresses up as a female bird)
PM, would have loved to have been in on those discussions!
perfect, glad you enjoyed the pics. LOL, I actually liked "TNG", although it has proven to be quite cheesy in the long run.
I'm a die-hard TOS Trekkie, and they really had some great costumes back then.
Sheen, thought you might be a TOS fan!
