As I was just looking at some erotic imagery, I began to wonder what the ladies at my work would think of me if they knew what I was up to.  Would they be disgusted?  Perhaps they'd be turned on too.  It makes me wonder if they are aware of the way many males constantly hunger for sex.

Shopping Trip

I had some spare time recently and decided I wanted to check out some local stores.  The first place I looked was a shoe store.  This store specializes in exotic types shoes, in other words stripper shoes.  The store was small and dingy looking, like it could use a good cleaning.  There was an older gentleman sitting in a chair when I walked in.  He looked kind of surprised to see me and I just said hello to him.  He seemed slightly unfriendly, but who knows, he left me alone to browse the shoes.

The selection of shoes wasn't massive by any means.  If I had to guess, I'd say there were less than fifty different shoes on display.  Most were of the clear sole variety and very high heeled.  There was a sticker on all the shoes that said they were only available from sizes 5 through 12.  The prices were a little high for my tastes, so I refrained from any purchases even though there were maybe three shoes that really caught my eye.

The next store I hit was an exotic dancer clothing store.  They had a pretty good selection of outfits and costumes.  Many of the pieces seemed slightly cheap in construction although I can't be completely sure.  They had pretty much any fantasy costume you could imagine.  Lots of naughty school girl skirts and tops and micro skirts.  I was very tempted to buy a skirt or top, but again refrained due to the highish prices.  The clerk in this store was a woman who was very friendly, saying hello when I entered and not looking surprised or shocked in any way, which put me more at ease.  I may go back someday and buy something just because I know places like these won't be able to stay around unless people go down there and support them.  If they fold then we'll be reliant on the internet for all our naughty shoes and clothes.  We won't be able to try things on before we buy or have any interaction with the sales people.

The third place I checked out was a sex shop.  There was a friendly guy in his 20's at the counter.  I looked around a bit from the center of the small room. One side had some gay accessories, one area had female toys, then there was some fetish items like handcuffs and such.  Toward the back of the store there was a DVD/Blu Ray area that had racks of porno movies that were separated into categories.  The prices were OK on the movies.

On the back wall of the video area there was a doorway that had a sign stating that the preview area had a ten dollar entrance fee.  A patron could go back there and "sample" the movies.  I could hear the moans of pleasure coming from beyond the doorway, the soundtrack of a porn movie someone was enjoying back there.

So at the end of my trip I walked away with no purchased items, but a much better idea of what was out there and where I might go or not go when and if I might get the urge to purchase something.

April Fool

Harry Reems RIP

You may have read that actor Harry Reems passed away.  Sad news about a guy who brought so much joy to others from his acting in adult films.  Harry was 65 years young and living in Utah, working as a real estate agent until his death.  Interestingly unlike many other former porn actors, he was never ashamed of his past work or tried to hide it.  In fact, instead of trying to hide, he actually changed his legal name to Harry Reems!  Gotta love that!

He was best known as the costar of the famous 70's porn flick "Deep Throat".  It's said that he was working on set, trying to learn about film making and doing lighting.  The actor who was the original costar didn't show up and Harry stepped in.  From there he went on to star in hundreds of movies.  Harry got to fuck some of the most famous and desirable ladies in the industry including Marilyn Chambers and Ginger Lynn, two of my all time favorites.  He often played a goofy type character and something about him reminds me of Steve Martin the comedic actor, especially with that grey hair.

He was dragged through the mud during the 70's when the government tried to shut down the porn industry by bringing criminal charges against him for being involved in the distribution of porn.  He initially lost and was sentenced to jail, but later won on appeal.  Famous actors like Jack Nicholson backed him (hats off to Jack for that).  I wonder if the Oscars will acknowledge this pioneer of porn at next years awards and show his picture during the segment where they honor people who were lost in the last year?  He certainly deserves to be honored for all he went through.

It seems he lived a full and storied life.  I'm sure many a man would have loved to have been in his shoes during those days when he was working his way through the A-list of porn's most beautiful and famous ladies.  Here's to you Harry Reems, rest in peace!

Agent Provocateur

I recently had the pleasure of visiting an Agent Provocateur boutique.  The experience was a pleasant one for sure.  The store was small and well decorated.  It felt posh and Victorian.  There were two ladies working there, only one spoke to me, offering assistance if I needed it.  I told her I was just browsing.  She was helpful but not pushy.  She asked me if I knew about the history of the company and told me little about it.  It seems AP was the brainchild of Joseph Corre, son of British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood (who is credited with bringing modern punk and new wave fashion to the mainstream).

The store itself had a wall of items on display, each on a wire frame mannequin.  The saleswoman explained that the display items were all of one size, but that different sizes were available and would be brought out at my request.  The items were as exquisite as I'd imagined and hoped.  Beautifully designed and brought to life with wonderful details and quality.  Of course all this comes at a price and the items are very expensive, putting the likes of VS to shame price wise.

I'm not sure what the ladies in the store thought of me.  I was the only one in there besides them.  They were very pleasant though.  The saleswoman handed me a glossy catalog before I left, telling me that there were staple items and seasonal items.  I'm thinking it'd be good to buy something seasonal since these are probably only available for a short time.  I checked the price tags and at least one bra was $180, no small sum.

I will return when money allows (or I am overcome with lingerie lust) to purchase some things.  Of course I will have to have someplace special to store these things as I wouldn't want them to get ruined at that price!

Thievery

Hola Readers!  Can you believe it's already the start of a new month?  Ready for your weekend?  Yeah, me too!  I was watching Jimmy Kimmel the other night and he ran a story about a man from Michigan who had his porn collection swiped.  The thieves took three TV's and his adult film collection that was valued at $7500.  He said he had vintage movies that are no longer available.  I can totally relate.  Unlike mainstream movies and TV, a lot of vintage stuff is disappearing or is long gone.  Even the movies from the 90's will be harder and harder to find because of the lower definition video that is out of vogue and doesn't look very good on new TV's.

I've talked about some of my favorite vintage porn classics here on the blog in past posts.  Surprisingly, there must not be much of an audience for such things, since many of the biggest titles from the past are not remastered or available in high def.  A shame really, because if someone had the original films on celluoid they could be converted over to high definition.  I'm sure the movies exist in some buff's collection, but those people probably don't have the rights to make such conversions and distribute them.

On my wish list would be any of the Marilyn Chambers films, Insatiable at the very top of that list.

Recently, I've been toying with the idea of subscribing to an online porn site.  There are so many out there that you could easily spend your entire paycheck on internet porn every month.  The sites range from low budget poorly made raunchy stuff to high quality, art level photography and video footage.  Each genre has it's appeal, from the gritty, street level bad girls to the classy women you'd never even expect to see doing nasty things.  There really is something for any fetish or taste out there.
